Each year, as I attend the nearly 100 performances by our students and faculty, I am reminded again and again that Winchester Community Music School holds a very special place in the community.

During these concerts, I’m thrilled to see that the student who started in Music & Movement classes as a toddler is now playing lead guitar in our Rock & Blues Band. It seems like yesterday that the high-school flutist performing a Mozart concerto with her school orchestra was just starting private lessons, that the lead in this year’s musical was a young student in our girls’ Voice Works program, and that our newest piano student was the parent who waited patiently during her daughter’s piano lessons a decade ago. After 28 years, WCMS continues to be a warm and welcoming environment where anyone, at any age, can discover his or her own musical journey.
