We invite the community to enjoy the wide variety of WCMS performances held throughout the year. WCMS faculty and students perform regularly in both formal and informal recitals. Thanks to generous support for community organizations and businesses, these concerts are free and open to the public. Open Mic at Starbucks in Winchester Center

Our last Open Mic until September!  Make sure to be there!  Join us at Starbucks in downtown Winchester for our next "First Thursdays" Open Mic event at 7:00 p.m. Hosted by Faculty Member, Mike Verge.  Open Mic Nights occur the first Thursday of every month and we welcome performers, families and friends for this lively emceed, coffee house event with a supportive and friendly setting. Come perform at the microphone or just listen to the local talent while enjoying tasty beverages and bakery items.  Hope to see you there!

Individual or small duo/trio acoustic performances are encouraged, but we welcome all ages, all instruments, and all types of music.

Music Adventure is an engaging half-day program just for kids aged 4 & 5! We explore music through songs, movement, stories, games, and art projects. With fun activities, your child can discover how rhythm and melody work together to create music. During the week, students create their own musical instruments. The final class includes a musical presentation for family and friends! Tuition: 
Week 1 (5 day program) =$300
Week 2 (4 day program) =$240

Underground Summer Program

 Love the Blues, Classic Rock or Modern Rock? Recording? Songwriting? Being Creative?  THIS IS YOUR PLACE!  The Underground Summer Session @ WCMS is a great way for kids ages 10-18 to kick off school vacation! All classes, ensembles, recordings, clinics, and performances are led by our exceptional, award-winning faculty.

Dates:  June 10 - 14, 2013 (Monday-Friday) 9 AM-1 PM daily   New session just added!!!            
           June 26 - 29, 2013 (Wednesday-Saturday); 1-5 PM daily

Each day of the Underground Summer Session is broken up into a theme: Blues, Classic Rock, and Modern Rock. While focusing on these styles, participants will...
  • PLAY in a band ATTEND interesting classes in recording and songwriting
  • PARTICIPATE in clinics and workshops
  • PERFORM in a concert at the end of the week
  • RECEIVE an MP3 of your band's final performance to play for your friends and family! ...all of which will helps you become a better musician, while having fun making music with your peers!

Instrument Adventure is an exciting new opportunity for children (ages 6-8) to begin to play a variety of fun instruments from three different musical families:  winds, strings, and percussion.  In addition to singing, dancing, movement activities, and musical games, your child will receive his/her own recorder and ukelele to take home after the program is over.  With their instruments, the kids will experience the joy of creating music together.  If you're thinking of choosing an instrument for study next fall, this program is great way to explore a few of the choices.   The final class includes a musical presentation for family and friends!

Tuition:  $280 for each 4-day program, plus $50 materials fee for recorder and ukelele

Instructors:  Jim Conner and Tad Hitchcock Space is limited in each session to just 10 students in Instrument Adventure.  Enroll early!

Open to pianists aged 9-18.  Join us for five days of activities designed to bring pianists together in a fun, interactive program. Open to any pianist, you do not need to study at WCMS to participate

Performance for family and friends at the end of the program!

Percussion Festival

Summer Percussion (for Ages 8-11) Summer Percussion is a three-day program designed to introduce young musicians to playing percussion instruments. It's a great way to try out percussion in a fun group setting if you're a beginner or have only had a year of instruction (group or private). 

Class size is limited to just 8 students - enroll early!

Learn what makes the percussion section tick!  This is a great way to jump start a young percussionist prior to private lessons or the school instrumental program.  Receive hands-on experience to all the percussion instruments as well as an introduction to world percussion.
