"How to" Songwriting

In our songwriting classes, your creative experience can flourish! Choose one or take both of our "How To" classes to learn the tools used to craft a great piece of music.

"How to" Songwriting: Music

From inspiration to completed song, music writing will take you through the tricks and techniques used by renowned songwriters to find out what makes a great song tick. You'll learn how to
  • write a hook,
  • craft a bridge, and
  • work with basic chords and lyrics to complete a song of your own.
Basic knowledge of an instrument is required (guitar, piano, violin, etc).

Tuition: $70.50 (3 classes)
Fridays, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

"How to" Songwriting: Lyrics

Lyric Writing will help you develop the necessary tools to write your own compelling song lyrics from scratch. Along with other aspiring songwriters, you'll
  • study the lyrics of songwriting masters by analyzing content, imagery, and meter in order to hone your own ideas and skills
  • discover how songs evolve over time by sharing your lyrics in class and offer constructive criticism of other's work
Ability to play an instrument is helpful, but not required

Tuition: $70.50 (3 classes)
Fridays, 5:15-6:15 p.m.
