Chamber Music Ensembles

For grade school children, teens, and adults. Performing in a chamber music ensemble is a very rewarding experience. Students expand their overall musicianship, technique, and performance skills. Open to all instrumentalists: strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, and classical guitar.

Voice Works (Level 1)

For girls in grades 3-5. This ensemble program is a fun, supportive, and non-competitive experience that develops healthy singing skills, teaches vocal technique, and builds self-confidence and teamwork.

Jazz Ensembles

For older children, teens, and adults. For all lovers of jazz, our jazz ensembles consist of a rhythm section, including bass and percussion, and at least one of the following instruments: guitar, piano, brass, woodwind, string, and voice. Throughout the semester, students are coached weekly and learn, develop, and improve improvisation skills.

String Sinfonietta

For older children and teens who are intermediate string players. This ensemble offers an orchestral experience to supplement school orchestra or string programs. Participants will perform a range of string orchestra repertoire, with concerts held at the end of each semester.

Percussion Ensemble

For grades 4-10. Our percussion ensembles are designed to enhance a student's musicianship in all areas of percussion playing, and complement school band programs and private lessons.

Motown Band
Auditions by appointment
Tuesdays, 6:15 - 7:15 PM - especially seeking a vocalist
For older children, teens, and adults. Rediscover the classic sounds of the Motown bands. Learn and perform great soul, R&B, and funk hits from the 60's and 70's. The group can consist of horns, vocals, keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums.

Beatles Ensemble

Thursdays, 8:00 - 9:00 PM
For high school students through adults. Each semester we focus on a different theme from the Fab Four's legendary career. Past semester themes have included the Yellow Submarine Songbook, the Rubber Soul Album, and the White Album. We look for vocalists, guitarists, bassists, keys, drummers and even horns & strings.

Women's Rock Band
No audition required
Fridays, 1:00 - 2:00 PM - especially seeking a guitar player - beginner/intermediate level adult
Rock out with our adult rock band for women! Come explore your potential in a supportive environment. Everyone from experienced rockers to people dusting off their instruments for the first time in years are welcome.

Adult Rock Band

Mondays, 8:00 - 9:00 PM
Our Adult Rock Band is geared towards the advanced beginner/intermediate adult player. The set list is made up of songs brought in by each member of the group in addition to appropriate teacher chosen pieces. We'll cover a wide range of genres from early country, 60's rock, punk rock, blues, and alternative rock, just to name a few.

Youth Rock Bands

For ages 11-18. Come learn the ins-and-outs of playing with a rock band! You'll learn how to read chord charts, work together with your band members, put a song list together, and prepare to play for an audience.

Rock & Blues Band

For teens and adults. Participate in a rock band and learn to read chord charts, put a song list together, and prepare to perform for an audience. You'll play hits from classic rock, great blues artists, and today's bands. Horn players welcome.

Stormy Monday Blues

Mondays, 7:00 - 8:00 PM
For older children, teens, and adults. Meet other musicians who share a love of the blues, learn to play in a band, and perform for family and friends at the end of the semester. Includes individual coaching and education on the history of the blues.

Village Band
No audition required
Mondays, 12:30 - 2:00 PM
All instruments, ages, and levels welcome! Pull that instrument out of the closet, the attic, or the basement and start playing. Village Band is a friendly, welcoming group that plays all sorts of music including light classical, Americana, pop, klezmer, and world folk music.

Jenks Recorder Ensemble
No audition required
Tuesdays, 12:45 - 2:45 PM
This intermediate-level ensemble is for adults with previous experience in playing the recorder. The group studies Baroque, Renaissance, Romantic, and 20th-century music with particular emphasis on rhythm and musicality, in a supportive group atmosphere.
