DESCRIPTION:This workshop is full. Participants in this workshop will learn about the art of improvisation from trombonist Dan Fox. Dan is the director of the Arlington Jazz Festival and has had a prolific\, international performing career in modern and traditional jazz as well as big band. Dan will share techniques to help participants develop their own improvisation skills and artistry. \nFree for WCMS students/$15 for the general public. Open to musicians with at least two years of playing experience. \nRegister (WCMS student) \nRegister (general public) \nHosted by the Woodwinds\, Brass & Percussion Department at WCMS.

DESCRIPTION:For currently enrolled Suzuki Piano and Violin families! \nJoin WCMS Suzuki faculty members for a 1-hour session to review\, refresh\, and reinforce some of the main concepts we learned during your orientation about the Suzuki method. This session will also be a great opportunity to share and discuss tips\, tools\, and helpful techniques to support your child’s at-home practice and learning. Our newest Suzuki families can learn from the experiences of our more “seasoned” families\, as they share what they’ve learned throughout the Suzuki program. \nTo sign up\, use the link sent via email to all current Suzuki families\, or contact your teacher. \nChoose from two sessions:\nFriday\, November 3\,  2023\, 7:30 – 8:30 PM\nFriday\, March 22\, 2024\, 7:30 – 8:30 PM – this date is canceled – we hope to reschedule later this spring
