DESCRIPTION:In this interactive 90-minute workshop\, acclaimed guitarist and arranger Jane Miller will share strategies for guitarists to use the chords they already know in new ways and enhance their playing in a variety of genres. \nMiller is on faculty at Berklee College of Music. In addition to her teaching\, she is the leader of the Jane Miller Group\, which has released five CDs\, all of which receive regular international airtime. She is a regular contributor to Acoustic Guitar magazine and has published two books for the developing guitarist. \nOpen to ages 14 and up. Free for WCMS students; $15 for the general public. SUMMARY:Body Mapping Workshop with Vanessa Mulvey
DESCRIPTION:For all woodwind\, brass\, and percussion players! In this 90-minute workshop\, guest clinician Vanessa Mulvey will work with participants on how to use their bodies more efficiently to gain greater results in their playing. Following a general group discussion\, selected WCMS students will play for the group and Vanessa will work with them to address specific goals and tactics. This workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to develop greater comfort and fluidity while playing. \nFree for WCMS students; $15 for the general public. Recommended for grade 6 through adult.
