SUMMARY:Family Concert: "En Tu Órbita" featuring Sol y Canto
DESCRIPTION:Sol y Canto is the award-winning Pan-Latin ensemble led by Puerto Rican/Argentine singer and percussionist Rosi Amador and New Mexican guitarist and composer Brian Amador. Featuring Rosi’s crystalline voice and Brian’s lush Spanish guitar and inventive compositions\, Sol y Canto is known for making their music accessible to Spanish and non-Spanish speaking audiences of all ages. Rosi and Brian are joined by cellist/vocalist Queralt Giralt Soler from Barcelona who\, along with her spectacular cello playing\, adds her voice to the group’s intricate vocal harmonies. \nSol y Canto’s original songs are distinguished by poetic\, often quirky lyrics set in a framework of varied musical styles with surprising twists. They can make you dance\, laugh\, cry and sigh all in one concert. \nFor more information about the group visit their website\, www.solycanto.com. DESCRIPTION:Please note: Broadway on Highland is open only to WCMS singers and their invited guests.\n \nCome support our talented singers and join in with the audience for the sing-along numbers. Broadway on Highland is a wonderful showcase for our voice students and a delightful evening for all! \n\nPerformers should arrive at 6:30 PM on the day of the event to run through their piece once with an accompanist.\n \nGuidelines for Performers: \n\nYou don’t need to be memorized\, but your selection should be well-prepared.\nBring your sheet music in a binder (no loose sheets\, lead or lyric sheets).\nBring an additional copy of your music for the accompanist which is complete\, copied back-to-back\, and in the key in which you plan to sing. It must be three-hole-punched and binder-ready before you arrive to sign up for your run-through time. No a cappella renditions are permitted.\nFamily-friendly lyrics and casual dress—no costumes or props\, please!\nPerformers should arrive at 6:30 PM on the day of the event to run through their piece once with an accompanist. SUMMARY:Spring Piano Evaluations
DESCRIPTION:Evaluation Dates:  \n\nSaturday\, April 5\, 1:00 – 6:00 PM\nSunday\, April 6\, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n\nWCMS Piano Evaluations are a springtime performance opportunity for dedicated students of WCMS faculty. They are designed to encourage growth and artistic expression for students of all ages. Evaluations are open to students of WCMS teachers\, and your private teacher must recommend participation. \nHow do they work? \nStudents prepare a program to perform for a panel of two adjudicators and receive detailed\, constructive written feedback. Each student’s teacher determines the repertoire and scale requirements for their evaluation. Repertoire does not need to be decided before registration. \nDetails: \n\nRegistration is required to reserve a spot:\n\n December 21: Priority registration deadline for WCMS students. After December 21 the registration will be opened to students from other schools\, and you are not assured a performance spot.\nJanuary 31: Final registration deadline for all students. Repertoire is not required for registration\, and can be determined by the teacher later in the spring.\n February 7: The performance schedule will be finalized and shared no later than February 7. DESCRIPTION:Evaluation Dates:  \n\nSaturday\, April 5\, 1:00 – 6:00 PM\nSunday\, April 6\, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n\nWCMS Piano Evaluations are a springtime performance opportunity for dedicated students of WCMS faculty. They are designed to encourage growth and artistic expression for students of all ages. Evaluations are open to students of WCMS teachers\, and your private teacher must recommend participation. \nHow do they work? \nStudents prepare a program to perform for a panel of two adjudicators and receive detailed\, constructive written feedback. Each student’s teacher determines the repertoire and scale requirements for their evaluation. Repertoire does not need to be decided before registration. \nDetails: \n\nRegistration is required to reserve a spot:\n\n December 21: Priority registration deadline for WCMS students. After December 21 the registration will be opened to students from other schools\, and you are not assured a performance spot.\nJanuary 31: Final registration deadline for all students. Repertoire is not required for registration\, and can be determined by the teacher later in the spring.\n February 7: The performance schedule will be finalized and shared no later than February 7.
