DESCRIPTION:Are you an adult (18+) looking to try out steel drums (aka\, steel pans) for the first time\, or to practice your pan skills? WCMS is hosting four free meet-up nights at Winchester Recreation before our steel drum ensemble begins on February 11 for spring semester. \nDrop in\, play the drums\, practice your skills—beginners are welcome! These are casual evenings with no specific instruction or format. You can drop in at any point and stay as long as you wish. \nThe meet-ups are hosted by AC Kao\, a WCMS staff member and ensemble member. She’ll have some song sheets that you can work on at your own pace and will be available to give tips and pointers. DESCRIPTION:Calling all Broadway lovers! Join us for an evening of favorites from the Broadway or Disney stage\, performed by private students from the WCMS voice department. The evening also features several sing-along numbers for all in attendance to participate in. Preview the sing-alongs below! \n\nGuidelines for Performers: \n\nYou don’t need to be memorized\, but your selection should be well-prepared.\nBring your sheet music in a binder (no loose sheets\, lead or lyric sheets). No a cappella renditions are permitted.\nA copy for the accompanist must be turned in to your teacher at least two weeks in advance. SUMMARY:Spring Piano Evaluations
DESCRIPTION:Evaluation Dates:  \n\nSaturday\, April 11\, 1:00 – 7:00 PM\nSunday\, April 12\, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n\nWCMS Piano Evaluations are a springtime performance opportunity for dedicated students of WCMS faculty. They are designed to encourage growth and artistic expression for students of all ages. Evaluations are open to students of WCMS teachers\, and your private teacher must recommend participation. \nHow do they work? \nThe student’s teacher will determine which repertoire and scale requirements the student will prepare for the evaluations. These decisions do not need to be made at the time of registration. The teacher will also choose whether the student signs up for the Performance track or the Awards track. Ask your teacher for more information. \nDetails: \n\nRegistration is required to reserve a spot:\n\n December 20\, 2025: Priority registration deadline for WCMS students and private students of WCMS faculty. After December 21\, registration will be opened to students from other schools\, and you are not assured a performance spot.\nJanuary 31\, 2026: Final registration deadline for all students.\n\nRepertoire is not required for registration\, and can be determined by the teacher later in the spring. Performance or Award track can be determined at the same time.\n\n\n February 7\, 2026: The date by which the performance schedule will be created and shared. No schedule change requests or refunds will be offered after the schedule is published.\n\n\nEvaluation dates: Saturday\, April 11\, 1:00 – 7:00 PM and Sunday\, April 12\, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n\n\nFee: $65\n\nWhat to perform: \n\nPrepare a program of two pieces and two scales. Student’s teacher will determine repertoire\, scale parameters (choice of keys\, number of octaves\, speed\, etc.)\, and memorization requirement. Maximum length = 15 minutes. If the program is longer\, the adjudicators will shorten the program by hearing excerpts of the prepared material. \n\nWhat to expect: \n\nEvaluations are private. Parents\, other students\, and teachers wait outside the evaluation room during the performance.\nPerformances will be in-person.
