DESCRIPTION:Please note: Performing at Broadway On Highland is currently open to WCMS private voice students\, staff\, and invited guests.  \nCome support our talented singers and join in with the audience for the sing-along numbers. Broadway On Highland is a wonderful showcase for our voice students and a delightful evening for all! \n\nPerformers should arrive at 6:30 PM on the day of the event to run through their piece once with an accompanist.\n \nGuidelines for Performers: \n\nYou don’t need to be memorized\, but your selection should be well-prepared.\nBring your sheet music in a binder (no loose sheets\, lead or lyric sheets). No a cappella renditions are permitted.\nA copy for the accompanist must be turned in to your teacher at least two weeks in advance. It must be complete\, clean\, and copied back-to-back.\nThe accompanist copy must be in the key in which you plan to sing\, three-hole-punched and binder-ready.\nFamily-friendly lyrics and casual dress—no costumes or props\, please!\nPerformers should arrive at 6:30 PM on the day of the event to run through their piece once with an accompanist. Please feel free to bring a water bottle.\n\nSongs for Audience Sing-Alongs:  Listen in advance to become familiar with the songs! SUMMARY:String Department Workshop: Fiddling with Molly Tucker
DESCRIPTION:Are you a string player who is curious about the art of fiddling? Whether you’re brand new to fiddling or have explored this art form before\, this workshop is for you! In this 90-minute session\, WCMS teaching artist Molly Tucker will lead participants through learning a fiddle tune and exploring what styling can make your playing sound like fiddle playing. The group will also explore chordal and rhythmic ideas to bring the tune to life in their own way. \nThis workshop is open to all intermediate-to-advanced string players. Participants should be able to play two-octave G and A Major scales\, and should be playing at least at the end of Suzuki Book 1 or the equivalent. \nFree for WCMS students; $15 for the general public. \nRegister Online (WCMS students) \nRegister Online (general public) \n  \n

SUMMARY:Faculty Concert: "Fiddle Traditions"
DESCRIPTION:A Celebration of Toe-Tapping Fiddle Tunes \nWCMS faculty member Molly Tucker and guest artist Casey Murray will present a concert of original and traditional fiddle tunes in the New England\, Celtic\, and Old Time styles. As dance musicians\, they will share toe-tapping tunes that inspire movement and joy\, in addition to songs they love and original compositions. \nFree admission—all are welcome. A $20 suggested donation supports our concerts and performers. Held live in Nichols Performance Hall at WCMS and streamed live on our YouTube and Facebook channels.
