Learn ~ Jam ~ Tinker! Join WCMS and the Acera School in Winchester for a great summer STEAM collaboration. The program will be led by Dylan Foley, Acera's songwriting teacher, instrument maker, and tinkerer (who has a degree in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music), and WCMS music educator and guitarist Tad Hitchcock.

Students will explore kinesthetic experiences to uncover what causes sound and how it relates to movement as they groove through the week. Experiment with rhythm, sequence, and pattern while strengthening coordination and spatial reasoning. Explore tone and pitch through detective work with multiple instruments, from stringed instruments to horns, chimes to drums. Receive high quality instruction in small groups – then get experimental with digital recordings, inventive instruments, and special effects. De-construct and re-construct instruments in our woodshop, to appreciate the magic of music!

This morning program can be taken by itself, or paired with an afternoon program at Acera for a full day of STEAM summer camp. See the complete list of Acera morning and afternoon programs. Acera is located at 5 Lowell Avenue, Winchester.
