Matthew Visconti

Trombone, Baritone Horn, Tuba
Teaches on Tuesdays

Remote Learning Guide: If your lessons with Matthew Visconti are being held remotely, please review these set-up recommendations and technology requirements.

I have been playing trombone since I was 10 years old. I started playing it because I loved the way it looked and sounded. I started taking private lessons and with the help of all my private instructors, grew to love the instrument throughout high school. They inspired me to become a professional musician and teacher. I firmly believe that learning music helps you develop all aspects of yourself and is one of the most rewarding activities one can experience.

In addition to teaching at Winchester Community Music School, I also teach at Lexington Christian Academy and serve as Instrumental Music Director. I enjoy writing reviews for the International Trombone Association Journal, and am an active performer throughout New England in both chamber and large ensemble settings.

As a performer, I have had the privilege of performing with many local ensembles as well as orchestras throughout the southern United States including the Louisville Orchestra, Kentucky Opera, Louisville Ballet, the Memphis Symphony, Opera Memphis, Ballet Memphis and many others.
