Get Started with Songwriting (for Teens & Adults)
Online offering for Fall 2020.
Have you always wondered about writing your own songs but don't know where to start? This 4-week online class will give you a practical introduction to the mechanics of songwriting. It will help assemble your songwriting tool kit with techniques to get you going. We'll cover song forms, tips for setting words to music, and the basics of time, pitch, and melody. Anyone who plays a chordal instrument is welcome—bring out your keyboard, guitar, accordion, melodica—anything that generates more than one note.
If you're already writing your own songs and want to take your technique to the next level, let us know—we can create a songwriting class to meet your needs, or work with you one-on-one.
The class will be conducted live on the Zoom platform. Space is limited to 8 students.
