For Fall 2021, most group classes will be held in-person while a few offerings remain online. For in-person classes we are decreasing class size, using larger rooms with ample air exchange and filtering, and requiring masks for all participants (ages 2 and up).  Please visit our COVID-19 page for more information.

Group Ukulele Class (for Kids, Teens & Adults)

In-person offering for 2021-22. Ukulele is a fun and engaging instrument—it's portable, fairly inexpensive, great for playing popular music, and fun to sing along with. It's also a great primer for learning other stringed instruments. Whether you're a beginner or already have a little experience, come join our friendly group classes!

Ready, Set, Uke (Ages 6–9)

Join us for some fun and fabulous music! This class will introduce kids to playing ukulele in a group setting. This is also a good refresher class if you have a little bit of uke experience already. Once you're ready, take the next step and join the WCMS Ukulele Club, where you'll continue to work on songs and build your skills. Maximum of 6 students per session.

Students should come to class with their own ukulele. Suggested entry level brands available locally include:

Group Ukulele (Ages 10–Adult)

Don't let the little kids have all the fun...tweens, teens, and adults can learn to play uke too! In Level 1, we'll teach you the basics you need to know to get going on this popular instrument. You'll come away with having a few songs under your fingers and the ability to figure out more tunes on your own. Students should come to the first class session with their own ukulele—see suggested recommended brands above (under Ready, Set, Uke). Depending on interest, Level 1 students can continue learning as a group or join the Ukulele Jam.

If you have some uke experience and you're ready to build repertoire and work on strumming patterns, join us in the Ukulele Jam! We'll play a wide variety of songs from old standards to modern hits. Students are encouraged to suggest new additions to the play list. Choose any 8-week section that fits your schedule, and continue as desired. Maximum of 6 students per session.

Note: This program can accept new students until the second class of the session. Tuition will be prorated.
