Summer Chamber Music Exploration (Ages 7-12)

New for 2024! Summer Chamber Music Exploration at WCMS is a 3-day chamber music experience for string, piano and woodwind students ages 7-12. 

This program is ideal for students who have not yet played with an ensemble, or have just a couple of years of ensemble playing experience.  They will learn the fundamentals of ensemble playing in a small group setting, expand their musical skills, develop performance skills, and explore music enrichment topics in a fun and nurturing environment.

Program Features:

• Daily chamber coaching in two different ensembles
• Daily enrichment class
• Snack break
• Final concert for family and friends

Enrollment Information: An audition for placement is necessary for everyone. Participants must be age 7–12 as of June 1, 2024 with at least two years of study with a private lesson teacher. Please complete an Audition Form to bring with you to the audition.

Audition Dates: Sign up online for a 15-minute time slot*:

• Sunday, May 12, 2:00 – 5:00 PM
• Sunday, May 19, 2:00 – 5:00 PM

* If unable to make the audition dates above, please contact WCMS to arrange an alternate date.

Audition Requirements:

• One scale
• One polished piece
• Sight reading

Once the audition process has been completed and you have been notified of acceptance into the program, our registrar will contact you to complete the enrollment process.
