To make a gift of stocks or securities that are currently held in a brokerage account, the easiest way to proceed is to instruct your broker to transfer the shares to WCMS’s brokerage account.
Your broker will probably require written authorization from you before transferring the stock. Please ask that your broker include your name as the donor when processing your gift so that we can promptly acknowledge receipt of your gift.
It is important that WCMS is made aware of the transfer when it takes place. Please alert us of the forthcoming transfer by contacting our Development staff at wcms@winchestermusic.org or calling 781-721-2950. Our Development staff will provide you with the routing number for our brokerage account.
