Music MAYnia is back!
Join us for this year's pandemic edition:
"Music pandeMAYnia"

This year we all need a little community and musical joy, so we're so happy to announce a special pandemic edition of Music MAYnia! Instead of our usual one-day event at WCMS, we are planning a whole week of virtual events and socially-distanced outdoor events that celebrate music and our WCMS community.

When is Music pandeMAYnia?

Saturday, May 1 through Friday, May 7, 2021

What is our annual Music MAYnia event?

Music MAYnia is our largest outreach event of the year. Typcially held on the first Sunday in May, it's a performathon and festival that supports WCMS and our students by:

  • giving students a chance to perform for friends and family during a fun-filled day
  • inviting the public to experience WCMS
  • raising funds to support the school and ensure music education is accessible for everyone in our community

This year's pandeMAYnia will look different from past events, but one thing hasn't changed: the spirit of joy and community that comes from our students, faculty members, friends, and volunteers.

How will Music pandeMAYnia be different?

Normally, more than 800 community members gather at WCMS to enjoy arts, crafts, games, activities, refreshments, and nonstop live music. WCMS students and ensembles perform on three different stages over a four-hour period.

Of course, this isn't a normal year—so here is our 2021 schedule!

All Week Musical Scavenger Hunt On your own Musical scavenger hunt in downtown Winchester. We'll provide "bingo" style cards for your search! (Find as many clues as you can—there's no minimum.) Be one of the first 75 people to bring your card back to WCMS on Friday, May 7 between 2:00 and 7:30 PM and receive a goodie bag full of prizes. Pick up a scavenger hunt card at a participating downtown business (with a musical instrument clue in their window), or download a copy here!

For a $30 donation, your Shout Out message will be featured during the weeklong celebration. Order your Shout Out here.
  • Sign up for the Virtual Open Mic! Co-hosted by the Winchester Unitarian Society and Winchester Together, this community event will be held Tuesday, May 4 at 7:00 PM.
  • Tune in to watch a student recital, the Virtual Instrument Petting Zoo, the Open Mic, or the Faculty Concert!
  • Have fun in downtown Winchester with the Musical Scavenger Hunt!
